My name is Krishan Patel. I have worked within the context of public-sector and commercial enterprises for the past 10 years.
My work has focused on a belief on the importance of serving human needs in education, healthcare and other areas of prime importance to live and thrive in this world.
For many years, I thought one-laptop-per-child initiatives would solve all humanities problems. This led me to work with the technology within the Chicago Public Schools, municipal broadband strategies for the City of New York, and then help start PowerMyLearning.org, a digital learning platform and program.
Most recently, I spent the past couple of years supporting small-businesses after the 2008 financial crisis. Followed, by helping to start three cooperative health insurance carriers to service hundreds of thousands of families through Obamacare.
Currently, I helping the City of New York develop its broadband strategy.
